America's WETLAND Conservation Corps

The America's WETLAND Conservation Corps is a partnership between the America's WETLAND Foundation and LSU AgCenter. The Louisiana Serve Commission, housed in the Office of the Lt. Governor of Louisiana, administers an AmeriCorps Grant that partially funds this project.

This America's WETLAND Conservation Corps is engaging 18 members and hundreds of volunteers in hands-on coastal restoration and recovery activities, including vegetative planting, restorative interventions, community-wide clean-ups, and hands-on educational projects for members, volunteers and the communities they serve.

The Conservation Corps is building community pride and environmental awareness through volunteerism and will log at least thousands of volunteer hours during the year while promoting responsible stewardship and conservation; and incorporate a call for action to save coastal Louisiana.
