I exist as a place for cypress,
for water lilies, and for cattails
if they have nowhere to go.

I exist for amphibians, birds,
and furbearers as a home that
they could always return to.

I exist to protect the world
from sinking to its doom,
but how come I am going.

I exist yet my serene beauty is slowly
deteriorating; help me help you.
